In this animated gif I am sharing the key takeways on “The Principle of Consent“, a topic that I presented at the European seminar TRADATA2 (Training of Lawyers on European Data Protection Law) co-organized by the European Lawyers Foundation and The Paris Bar :
This TRADATA seminar introduced by Dominique Attias, vice president of the European Bars Federation, allowed us to share our thoughts on data protection law between lawyers from different European Bars, with the enlightenment of Anne Fontanille, from the European and International Affairs Department of the CNIL – Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés.
It was an opportunity for me to explain in detail why consent is not necessarily the primary legal basis for personal data processings and to shed light on the link between GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and the eprivacy directive (European directive on protection of privacy in the sector of electronic communications).
I would like to thank the organizers, Ariane Baux, in charge of the international service of the Paris Bar and Vasileios STATHOPOULOS, head of TRADATA (Training of Lawyers on European Data Protection Law).
